September's Featured Producer Partner | Samvel from Margahovit

Meet Samvel! He's the producer of HDIF's exclusive and popular Ararat puzzle.  He lives in Margahovit with his wife, Arpine, and their two teenage children.  Samvel has been physically disabled for most of his life due to an industrial accident.  He works in woodcraft as a way to occupy his time and create a source of income for his family.  His home is far from wheelchair accessible.  His house is perched up a flight of stairs, while his work space is in his garage, at the ground level.

During a recent visit from HDIF's staff, they discussed continuing the production of the puzzles as well as new items, including wooden square tea light candle holders and wooden square napkin holders, both with traditional Armenian carving designs.

Margahovit is a major village in the Lori province of Armenia.  The region boasts lush, green forests, rural tranquility, and rolling hills.  The Armenia Tree Projecthas been working in Margahovit for over a decade to promote reforestation, environmental preservation, and ecology and conservation.
